Ricoh Around the Globe - photos and details

Camera shipped, your turn is approaching, Broogino :-D

I've had a terrible time, with a pile of work and a camera waiting for my attention. So I had to take all the little opportunities, around my house, and didn't shot any of my planned photos. So the post cards will go on the next project, here I'll show the other side ;-)

I'm leaving for vacations in a few hours, so I'll post some more inf and comments when I get back.

Taken from inside the car, moving fast on a short trip to Lisbon... the Lisboa Acqueduct

Parque das Nações

An Eiffel structure near my house!

This one I'll have to comment later. A great surprise for me. Oh, I was trying to shot the first concret building in Portugal (1898)

Here's the big "back of the post card". We feel that Christ is allways showing he's back on us... ;-)

(is it my impression or is it visible a dust spot in the middle?)

Hi !

I received the camera yesterday in a safe packaging, no problem... obrigado Rui..;)

The diary/sketchbook is nice, very good idea...

It's time to shoot now...

Nice set of photos Rui! I almost missed your post ;)

There indeed seems to be a dust spot on the last photo. And it looks that the corner darkening is back too (visible on second photo). We will see what will be the photos from broogino and in case of problems, we can always send it back to Ricoh for repair before next travel.

I didn't notice the corner, only after you mentioned, Pavel. Checking on my photos at home I can see it, but more soft than in this photo here. Maybe because of the processing in-camera, perhaps?

BTW, I said I had to comment something on the 4th photo. It was surprising to find that one of the little houses, the blue one, is the birth place of my mother in law. We found it while showing her the photos, as she was curious to see what I was shooting in the neighbourhood :-D

No, it's not stopped. Just some delays due to people's vacation ;) I'm just waiting a response from next participant. But it seems we will have to make another little change in route plan.

Hi there
Sorry for the delay
The camera is on is way to UK

My favourite shots...

There's a very strange light on the last one but no post processing, I swear ! ;)

Here are my pictures. Sorry it took so long to upload them

I don't have the EXIF right now as my program seems to strip it. Will add it in manually later.

Well I got home last night and the camera was waiting for me! Which was good as I was a little worried about it getting caught in the postal strikes! Seems like such a long time I've been waiting, glad to actually be a part of the project finally!

Have had a play with it, and been out today getting some photos! my first thoughts are that I love the screen and it has some great features, but I dont think I'll be rushing out to swap my GX100! although we'll see how it goes over the next week or so! I have a couple more days off coming up so Im hoping for some good weather!

I'll keep you posted!

The camera arrived last Friday here in Ireland. A great surprise. What is even better ... it's not raining right now :) . I am trying to take a few pictures today and tomorrow and then follow the upload and shipping instructions. Where do I need to ship the camera to when I am done?

Yes I meant to actually say that I had posted the camera on but have been very busy, I have a quieter week ahead of me so I should get my photos uploaded, and all the pictures of the diary entries to bring that up to date!

Marco, Fuller, these are great news! Thanks for keeping us informed! ;)

Marco, I will send you the address of next person and instructions about FTP where you can upload full resolution files (for backup purposes).

The camera finally leaves old good Europe and next stop is Canada! Only 12 stops to the end of this journey folks! I'm really excited about it! True, with each next stop I'm also more nervous if the camera survives all this traveling? ;)

So much to my previous statement "no rain". While true yesterday it was certainly not today. I have uploaded 5 pictures to Flickr. :)

sorry all about the delays, I've been very busy lately, but here are my photos from the R10. I've tried to take the environment theme a slight step further, and make it more 'mans' destruction of the environment', by attempting to capture the beauty and ugliness at the same time. Except for the first pic of course which was just so random I just had to put it in!
