Ricoh Around the Globe - photos and details

I've been going around town with the R10 in the past ten days, taking shots on different themes. Here come the set of photos, "Icons of Hong Kong", which paints a portrait of this city.

(Note: The dates shown are correct but the time is about 6 hours ahead of the shooting time. )

Great contribution, Nevin. Thank you for sharing. Your stories add to the photos nicely.
Although the windows on the first shot suggest it is some double-decker, the entire picture is quite confusing so it is hard to believe it is a tram. Perfect work.

Peter

Thank you Peter. I have to steal this from LittleBlackBox, "It's all luck" (or did someone here say this?). ;)

Maybe the last shot is as confusing.

I guess you missed some photos? Shiro Kuro was somewhat busy to upload his photos so here they are:

As I hope, the camera should be on its way to Bangkok ;) Only 6 stops to finish this long route!

Hello! I see that I'm next in the line... will only be back in Singapore on the 15th morning though. I guess that means the camera can stop at Thailand for a week plus?

still waiting for the camera... can't wait...

will let you guy know right away when camera is in my hand.

I got a PM from Nevin that the camera shipment to znailz was somewhat delayed. But it should be already on its way. Let's hope it will be delivered soon ;)

it's at post office.. will go get it and pay for the tax around 10USD somethings...

will let you guys know when it's in my hand.

Great to hear that the camera arrived! And I'm sorry about the tax. This is exactly why I added a letter for customs. But it seems, the customs ignored it this time? At least it's very small amount ;)

Sawasdee krub!

I just shipped the camera today...so it might be reach Singapore around next week or something.
...Only 1 super busy week with R10 but feel good. I never have a chance to go nice place to take a picture..only on the way to work..and on the way back :p

Thanks to all people who involve of this event! it's dope!

P.S. really love MY1 and MY2 function HAHAHA coz my GRDI don't have it..

It's BKK signature, when you look up...you will see the electric pole and all messy wired.

Where the concrete building meet the old wooden shop house.

Only one not afraid of the sunlight.

Still wondering why nobody sit beside her? I think they are too shy.

nice pattern on the footpath..BKK signature again.

Have a good day!

Hello Jun,

I just shipped the camera today.. at the post corner in shopping mall. I think it's will arrive the post office (and on process) tomorrow.
They said it will take 5-7 days to reach Singapore. maybe you will get it next week or something. Here is the tracking number RE827133444TH
and you can track it from this site http://track.thailandpost.co.th/trackinternet/Default.aspx?lang=en

Cheers,

Juzz

Thanks for posting your photos and sending the camera! I hope you don't mind I edited your post with photos and uploaded all of them directly to post. I prefer to have all photos from journey stored locally ;)

sure, no prob :D

My personal theme for my selection below is to take something "non-touristy", except for the night shot... Presenting to you a side of Singapore that's different from all the glam you will usually see.

Thanks for posting your photos Jun! I heard a lot about Singapore fines ;) But I also heard Singapore is one of the cleanest place on earth (I mean places with high population), which is in my opinion worth the draconic fines. I really don't understand why so many people around me are unable to use trash can or take away what their dog did in a public area? Few days ago, I went with Lucia to a public playground. Just to play a bit with ball. And guess what? After only 5 minutes of game, Lucia returned with BIG dog shit stuck on her pictorial ball. I believe you can imagine my anger for all irresponsible dog owners!

BTW, I can't believe we are only 4 stops from finishing this looooong journey! :) Can't wait to start next travel with another camera! ;)

I think maybe a CX4 for the next camera & HD video submitions.
And don't light up your farts on the Queenstown platform unles you have $6500 SGD in your pocket.

Yes, I thought about GXR, but it's a bit too heavy for this purpose. And there may even more problems with customs, because it actually looks expensive :) But who knows...maybe with 28mm module? We will see! ;)

Dog and other shit are an Universal problem. But I have to agree that if a strong fine policy is needed, just do it, because I'll have no problem with that! ;)

Ok, count me in the next project, no matter the camera it's a great experience and fun!

My photos. Subjects are a bit limited because I received the camera with only a few days to go before leaving for a month-long work trip, and didn't have much time to experiment or visit places just to take photos, so they are on morning and afternoon dog walks and at James Cook University in Townsville, where I work.
