---------------------------------------------------
Let's talk about some rules and instructions ;)
No PC postprocessing please! I set the camera to what I believe is the best setting for R10. But feel free to change the camera settings according to your preference. You can, of course, use in-camera editing.

You can take as many photos as you like, but before sending the camera to next person, select 5 photos you consider to be best and make them protected (there is an option to protect the photos right in camera menu). Then upload small previews (in max. size 1024x768) to this thread and upload full sized photos to the journey Flickr group (contact me about invitation). I hope Flickr is not a problem for anyone of you? I believe that most of you already have Flickr account and if not, you can create new one for free.

Finally, delete rest of your taken photos from the card. In other words, on card should be left only your five photos + all photos from previous stops.

The camera should be send to next person in as short time as possible. The name and address of following person will be provided by me (via PM). The maximum time one can hold the camera is 7 days.

Please guys, if we want to finish this project before end of this year, try to ship the camera as soon as possible. It would be ideal if the participants from the same city (London, Hong Kong) would hand the camera over in person. It would not only minimize the shipping costs but also speed the things up.

BTW, there is a Ricoh travel diary shipped with the camera. Feel free to enter few words about journey, camera, or whatever you like. Cartoons are greatly welcome too! ;)

Theme:
Ricoh folks asked me to set up an ecologic/environmental theme for this project. I thought about it for a very long time and I think it would be very hard to take a reasonable environmental photos in such short time. So the theme is open. But if possible, try to take at least one "green" themed photo. Otherwise, you can take any photo you like and in your favorite photographic style. There are no additional rules.

And now a little surprise!
At the end of camera trip, there will be announced a photo contest from all your taken photos! The winner will get a Ricoh digital camera! At the moment, I don't know which one, but I think it will be one of the actual models (actual at a time of ending this photo project). Second and third place will get the SW prizes.

UPDATE:
And the winners (voting is here) of the contests are...
Congratulation folks! And well done everyone! The journey was very interesting experience and I look forward to start next one! ;)

Great! I don't know how is the actual weather in Budapest, but here in Zilina is totally rainy and muddy and ugly and I simply hate it

here are my pictures :)

the first two was shot almost from the same place. lights were nice, but the wind... it wasn't.

i was driving to home, on a road i never went before, i saw this chimney in the light, with the background of dark clouds, so i had to stop :) after some photos it started to rain, so i was lucky :)

two friends of mine, in a café. in the corner you can see the shadow of my finger :D

went to her today to shoot a totally different picture, but finally we took this

actually i have an edited version of the first and last one, here and here.

i tried to ship the camera to Lithuania, but i wasn't succesful :( went to a little post office in a hypermarket, but they weren't able to find our how to declare the value in international shipping... tomorrow i will try a bigger office... or a parcel company.

Thanks for posting your portion of photos! Your edited versions looks great!

BTW, I hope you don't mind, I just re-uploaded the photos directly to your post.

thanks :)

no, it's okay. aaand please invite me to the flickr group, and i will upload the original files.

Sure. Please make me your contact or simply ask for invitation in the group (I sent a PM about it).

BTW, have you been successful with shipping the camera today?

nope, today they said packaging isn't okay for them (and they were wondering about the staff on friday, they made an inadequate closing). so i will send it with dpd on monday... im a little bit annoyed about... and sorry of course.

there's a little problem with flickr, if i don't have a pro account, then it wont show the full image, just the 1024px resized.

Damn, I thought the free accounts are limited only by 200MB. That's bad. In any case, please upload your files there. I will send you all participants the access details to an ftp account, where you can upload full resolution photos.

As for shipping, don't worry. I personally know very well how bad (and overpriced) are the postal services. BTW, did you enter something in the travel diary? ;)

Some news about R10 travel! Adam sent it on 17th March via DPD and the camera is on its way to Darius (Lithuania/Vilnius). What's really funny, the R10 just today (again) visited Zilina and then headed to Ostrava in Czech Republic (a place where I'm originally from). I think the next stop will be somewhere in Poland and then finally Vilnius? Stay tuned! ;)

Ha! There's a new feature suggestion comming from this project: camera tracking sensor!! :D

BTW, will someone upgrade R10 firmware while traveling?

Heh, built-in GPS with geotagging would a very useful addition to Ricoh cameras.

The R10 is updated with the latest FW, but I'm sure if there will be new one, someone will update the camera.

BTW, the camera reached Katowice - Poland! ;)

This morning, R10 leaved Warszawa - Poland and around 20:00 finally reached Kaunas - Lithuania! If I'm not mistaken, it should be delivered tomorrow to Darius! ;)

Rui, another GPS enabled Ricoh was G3. But yes, camera responding on user's whistle would be cool. And what about a camera with small legs? :)

Hi all,
just few minutes ago I have opened parcell from DPD :D.
Yes, camera is in Vilnius.

Darius

qnadam,
don't worry, all is OK. Camera arrived to my working place so it will be enough time to charge battery till I'll finish my friday jobs :)
