Re: What is this then?

I'm not sure if it exists ;) , but it could be some Australian "Turrón"? I though about a spanish one but the colour is very different:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turr%C3%B3n

Considering the colour, a macro of a Uluru's wall?

Or maybe a macro of some pottery with white stones??

Tricky one, hein?

Re: What is this then?

a mushroom. The ones you should not use in the kitchen.......( i am shure....almost...) :?:

Re: What is this then?

As I first looked at the image a tomato soup with spots of a cream flashed in my mind. Then another alternative appeared - a mushroom called toadstool. Then I went over the already published tips and found nothing inventive to offer here.

At least here is some analysis. It seems the white dots are floating on the red substance thus I would strike the second possibility out and keep the soup. :)

Peter,
toadstool soup sounds like a wicked recipe!
But only to be eaten be the wicked of course... ;)

Hmm, it looks like pebble gravel partly washed out of red sand, taken with camera pointed straight down.
Having written that, it might be too simple a solution :?

Re: What is this then?

Sorry I missed all the banter, had to go to bed not long after posting,

You guys are far too clever, you are all right about the mushroom. I think Pavel got it right first but Minnismum even nailed the type.. :o
The slightly unusual thing about these is they are all paper machete models of mushrooms in a museum display case.
So if it didnt quite look right, that would be why.

Here's the whole display case. sorry no PP to improve, no time lately, jpg from camera here.

Andy, believe it or not, there go rumours around here that there are people eating toadstools peeling the caps first and then cooking them for a long time. What would a doctor say on this matter is another thing.
Bon appetit. ;)
