This Ricoh around the world project sounds amazingly cool and the photographs so far have been excellent. I'm actually kind of ashamed that I'm only hearing about this now, good luck to everyone left on the list! Maybe I'll try and join the next time this gets organized
Hi all, i'm waiting Pavel to pm me the address of the next lucky guy (fizzog1) from Switzerland but may be he is "recovering" from the meetup!
P.S. the camera is really good and easy to use, but the repair has reset all the settings to default...so a bit "tricky" to find the best ones...e.g. the "Hard" image setting IMHO is a bit "too hard", I think it is worse than the one on my GRD.
Hi Z1gno, Great! I am looking forward to receiving the camera. Did you make pictures of the Biennale in Venice? I will be away Thursday - Sunday though, so there might be a slight delay in receiving it. Unfortunately, I couldn't take part at the Ricoh MeetUp, but am getting updates first hand - Jenny
PS: mmh, fizzog1 is a girl
what a shame! I'm sorry fizzog1
Well the camera is leaving Italy this morning...but unfortunately I have been very busy with my work in Padua, so I couldn't shot in Venice these days...hope you enjoy my pics anyway even if I'm not really satisfied by my five. I'll upload them next night I hope.
Ps. for fizzog1: to be forgiven by my "gaffe" , you and only you can watch this pics of venice I took this winter when I visited the "Biennale di Architettura". bye http://picasaweb.google.it/lorenzo.soli ... 0385812754
thank you. Tuesday I shipped the camera, but at the post office they told me that Switzerland applies duty very often because it is'nt in the EU...I wrote that it is not a commercial pack, but they told me that usually they stop foreing packs two or three days at the customs house and may apply taxes even if it is a gift! I Hope all will go allright!
Hi, I'm back from my travels and apparently the camera is waiting for me at the post office I'll retrieve it this afternoon and will find out what the tax thing is all about....!
The camera has arrived safely in Geneva I had to pay 13 CHF though, which I think was rather silly. It didn't look like they even bothered opening the parcel. Switzerland can be rather particular sometimes... Otherwise, the parcel and content looked like it came straight from the manufacturer...very neatly wrapped, Lorenzo! . On the camera: The first impression has been great. Nice & intuitive functionality. Sleek design. Looking forward to get out of the office & start playing... .
Hi !
I'm Bruno from France
I'm the next on the list after Switzeland
But i'm leaving for hollidays on June 28th, I'will come back on the 20 of July
Could you send the camera in Portugal and Spain first ?
Thanks
Regards
Jenny just today informed me that she finished her round. OK, we will make the Spain and Portugal first and you will be back on the list before the UK trip. Have a nice holiday!
