Good to know that the camera arrived so quickly in Germany Gerd! And I agree that the handstrap is very nice indeed. And as a matter of fact the best I have used so far.

Indeed, the camera arrived quickly, thank you very much!
But maybe it was too fast. When I insprected my more than 400 photos that I had taken on my walking and bicycle tours yesterday (I am recoverign from a hip surgery...), I found a strong vignetting effect particularly in the upper right corner (sometimes it's also in the upper left corner but to a lesser degree). All in all, this simplifies my task of selecting 5 photos considerably!
I am in contact with Pavel, and he is trying to find out how we can proceed. He suggested that the issue might be related to lens wobble, and applying pressure to the lens assembly has indeed an effect.

I could not see the vignetting in bright sunlight yesterday (I only saw my beard or nose...), but in darker environments it is visible on the LCD screen:

And funny that you all like the strap, I sent a PM to Pavel after receiving the camera asking about the strap and where to buy it. Seems Ricoh got a hot item on their hands here
I expected some problems because all that traveling in box And with known carelessness of some postal services it had to happen sooner or later. The good thing is that it happened in Germany where is European Ricoh Service center. So I hope the fix will be quick and the camera will soon be ready for its next way. I will keep you informed!
That is too bad Gerd. I saw no vignetting on my photographs. I still hope you had fun using the camera and I hope you recover well from your surgery. And compliments for that last photograph. The light is indeed very nice.
And the strap is indeed a great and hot item. I already checked if I could find it too.

I had a lot of fun with taking the pictures -- even though at times I missed the EVF of my GX200. Sometimes, I just saw my nose or beard on the LCD display... The level indicator is of great help in such cases (when it blinks green), at least the camera is held straight!

And you know what guys? There is available also longer "neck" version of this strap! I did not include it to make the package as small as possible. But it's very nice too! Both straps are available in "two in one" kit. I will ask the Ricoh folks if this strap kit is available for sale or if it's the same as with GRD color rings.

I have just returned from the post office where I delivered a small parcel including the R10 with destination Pirmasens. I hope that the R10 will be repaired soon and arrive well in Italy at Lorenzo's home (we ask the repair center to send the R10 directly to Italy).
What exciting days these were!

Great! Thanks for info! I just got an info from Mr. Kodama that the camera safely arrived and is being investigated. So you should have it soon They will also pack it in something more durable to add an extra protection. Hope it will survive the rest of the trip?
Seems you have a good sense for detail. I like this approach in photography -- trying to express some place or time with details only... I think it works best (at least for me). And, I like the "monochrome" colour shots as well.
This is a very nice idea. It is a pitty I have just joined this forum, but I would be happy if I could participate into this photo travel. I wiill have a ook here to see where is the camera day by day

We also have a direct measurement between "with" and "without" connections now : I sent may wife's CX1 on May 18th and the R10 May 23rd to Pirmasens. Both cameras were sent back today.

So guys, I got the response regarding the strap and I'm afraid, you will not like it at all. The strap is a giveaway in the Japanese market and it's not available for sale It's the same like with the GRD colored rings. A very nice thing, but unfortunately, not for everyone.
I will try to get some of these rare accessories for any of the future photo contests, so keep your fingers crossed!
