G'Day from WA
My name is Taff and since the Pentax K20D was realesed I have shot with a Pentax (maybe 2 years)
Well the time came when I found that all the lenses and large body was too much to carry around
and I found myself not using it as much as i once did.
I work away in the Pilbara and needed a more compact camera system to take with me, without sacrificing
image quality, and considering the amount of dust in the viewfinder and on my sensor, I decided the Ricoh
GXR with the A12 module was perfect for my needs, especially due to the fact that my favourite lens
was 50mm.
I have read as many reviews on the GXR as I can stomach and can only seem to find the only drawback on
owning this little beauty is the sometimes slow focus (well coming from pentax I'm used to that, actually the K20D
hunts more than Bear Grylls). So, after much pondering and great consideration I decided that practicality, Image resolution
and pure sexiness of the Ricoh won over the "current" AF issue.
My Pentax gear is at the store being evaluated as a trade so I may purchase the Ricoh. So if all goes as it should I will be a proud
owner of the RICOH GXR with A12 Module by Monday.
I apologise for the long winded introduction to your forum but find it is often better to tell a stroy that to just say HI!!!
So with all the gusto behind me.
