A couple from a trip to Tyndrum last Saturday...a beautiful day visiting a gold mine! (would there ever be a bad day?) ;)

wow, very well done Wiener. Good composition and point of view and good details and colors too.

I like your work.

Best Regards

Lovely place, nice and calm, thank goodness there are such places left, thanks for posting Andy

Andy,

I like the first shot, I can see why everyone describes the moor as "remote".

Keep up the good work :)

The atmosphere of the first one reminded me Storm Thorgerson's (again) art for the Pink Floyd's "Delicate sound of thunder" album. Nice work!

Thanks guys!
Pavel, the good news is that ALL the gold is still in the gold mine! :D
Sadly, it looks like it will stay there as it is in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, and they have rejected the permission to extract...however, it has been there for 400,000,000 years, so I'm guessing it can wait patiently a little longer! ;)
Cheers!
Andy

Eny!

First one is great, nice quiet atmosphere. With this view, why bother with the gold? :)

Second one is too cluttered for my taste due to the speedboats.

Any specific reason why the ISO is at 250?

Yes, I see what you mean! Perfact photographs without resorting to post processing is not getting any easier in this crowded world...I often stop and think...should I take this, knowing it is not ideal...car in teh wrong place, sun too high in the sky, cloud formation not what I really want...but life is so short, I just go ahead and shoot anyway! ;)
As for the gold...well, this was after the gold, so...bonus! :D
ISO 250? Well...the GX100 is not great above ISO 100, and these images look pretty noise free...so I'm guessing it is a web-page problem?
My cameras was set to ISO 80 as far as I recall...

Andy, this time it's really not the forum EXIF reader what's wrong ;) I examined the photos and their EXIF really says ISO250. But because the EXIF is unusually short in both files, it could be that the Picasa did something wrong with ISO tag? Could you please check the original files?

Hmmmm....curious! When I check the DNG original in Picasa, it still shows ISO 80...so as you say, it must be corrupting the EXIF data during export...I noticed that the boat 'explosion' also shows ISO 250 so it is at least consistent! ;)
I will try some more shortly, and see what comes...for a moment I thought my GX100 had developed 'superman' capabilities :D

Glen Coe is always impressive whatever the weather, and the foreground rock helps the image.
Wrong ISO ? Over exposed ? What do we know, we were n't there. I often grab a shot as soon as I see it, aperture priority and snap focus on the GRD. Then I'll fiddle with the controls to see if a can get a better one, quite often the first one looks just fine.
