Winter - where have all the colors gone?

Hi all,
I didn't have much time for posting photos or commenting on photos. But here are a few from colorless times called winter. Personally, I like the subdued colors of winter. And sometimes I also like to take confusing shots of natural patterns (here are two of those among the six)...
Best regards, Gerd
P.S.: Taken with M-mount unit and (I think) Zeiss Biogon 4.5/21

Its a good question Gerd, how do we make the most of the flat lighting?
I generally find I like it for portraits and the like - just my preference.
Maybe BW can yield good results.
The first image of the tree looks like a nice area and a good walk?

Yes it is -- and the tree was photographed fairly often.
Yes, BW might be an idea, but I am not much interested in it any more -- had it in my youth exclusively...

Although we haven't had a hot summer by any means here(unusually our first day over 30 degrees all summer was today) the feeling from looking at your shots is quite refreshing, me being a winter person and all! I very much like the subdued colouring of winter, so find your images quite appealing. Enjoy the 'chaos of nature' also, so like the last one best....Thanks Gerd. :D

Thank you Marcus and RoniG for your kind comments.
At the moment, winter seems to become "very refreshing" here -- minus 10 degrees Celsius and more have been forecast for this week. Our neighbors will leave for Australia in mid-February (and stay there until summer) -- it looks as if they were not at all winter persons like Marcus.

I am preparing to the same minus 10 degrees Celsius for this weekend Gerd. Brrrrr....
Great set of photos!

Thanks, Genster. Hopefully, you have a warm coat (I am sure you have...). We will "flee/fly" to Ireland where it will be around zero degrees, that is, comparatively warm...
Best regards, Gerd

Better to flee/fly to Puerto Rico and warm up with Gab. Nice photos Gerd,. Our winter has been pretty mild so far, I could hope for more snow cover to protect the perennials.
