why I love Silkypix and RAW

Just because this combo allows me to get this...


from this (out of camera JPEG)...


I almost deleted this photo right after reviewing it on the camera LCD. But I then thought about giving it a try in Silkypix. The pic alone is nothing exceptional. But I like the result.

In other words, even the terribly underexposed photo can turn into something useful. At least if you shoot in RAW ;) There is no way to get the same result from the above JPEG. Not at 100% scale and without spending hours with PP.

Nice treatment Pavel on this one. I haven't tried Silkypix yet and use Lightroom and Photoshop.

Your photos sure have a distinct "signature" and are almost instantly recognizable as "Pavels" :)
 
Thanks Skippy! I'm still working on my style ;) Silkypix is definitely worth a try. It seems like developed for Ricoh cameras?
 
Yes I agree - it allows me to bring out colour and textures in my hobby of plant identification. ;). Early plant development.
