A few days ago, there was a lovely transition in the seasonal light. The time when the night touches the day, dusk or dawn, got really short. It was as if the cold air came in and brushed time aside.
I can almost smell that clean air - we're having a lousy summer here at the moment as a result of the jet stream running much further south than normal carrying areas of low pressure - as a result 'up north' we have NE winds off the sea bringing rain and poor visibility rather than our 'normal' warm SW winds - I think I'd like to trade for your crisp clear weather - thanks for the image, it has made me feel better!
South Island gets a winter that you would be familiar with, but the North Island is pretty lame in comparison. The cold snaps bring much needed fresh air.
