Waiting For Low Tide

... or maybe for Nemo(?)

The shot is from last spring's flood here in Zilina caused by unusually heavy afternoon rain. It was taken only few metres from our flat.

I like the use of portrait mode for this photograph. The nervous guy to the right looks as if he lost his car.,

A new swimming pool next to your flat could be a positive thing?
But I think the water needs a little 'blue' added before I would jump in... :?
Nice shot! The body language of the young guy in the football top says it all...
Global warming??? Hmmmm.... ;)

Thank you, men, for liking the photo.

Phil, I suppose the silver car on right belongs to the guy and it looks like it is drying its motor such having the hood open.

Andy, believe it or not, there were boys "swimming" in the water when I arrived with my camera. You are not the only with such ideas. :)

Ricohnick, no damages on our condominium luckily. But there were serious problems in the city like drowned cars, flooded underground garages, basements, etc. The storm arrived just when I walked halfway home. Happily enough, I had only few metres to shelter in a park under a road bridge, then waited there some half an hour watching the incredible rain and lightnings, and listening the thunders, then, when the clouds were gone and the sun shined again, found myself unexpectedly on an island (an usually innocent creek turned into a small wild river on one side with the walk bridges under the water, a road turned into a small wild river on the other side with no bridges at all, and a swamp instead of the park on the last side) so had to wait some additional half an hour until the water on the road was so low that I could cross it and go home. What to say, it was much better programme than watching the TV. :)

not only portrait mode, but it is an interesting portrait, the three emergency guys with the citizen looking at the deluge. I am curious as to the meaning of the road sign on the pole? - we don't have that one here.

Thank you, Tim.
The sign says the driver is on a road with the right of way on the closest crossing.

I thought all the road signs same in the world? We also have that sign in Russia.
Just for the record, these are not used in the UK or in Österreich...
But it sounds like a sensible one... ;)

I know the sign here too, and the floods too!

Amazing what's happening all over the world... and people don't learn!

Great photo and document for the next generations too ;-)

Thank you, Rui.
The floods are not a usual phenomenon in our city. For someone living in an area with regular yearly floods the photo would not be something as special as it is for us.
