Visit to Bluewood Gallery

Visited our local photo studio. http://www.bluewoodgallery.com I've been in the shop a couple times but was reluctant to talk to those that operate the studio. But the other day my wife and I stopped in as my hair lady's shop is right next door and had a wonderful conversation with the manager. She was very encouraging and suggested that I get more involved with the local camera enthusiasts. I took these shots as we were looking about and have decided to join our local camera club:

Duane,

Looks a very interesting place to visit.

I must say how much i like your B&W photo's, can I enquire as to what camera & processing software you are using.

Hi David, my main camera now is the GXR with A12 28mm lens. Images 1,2 & 4 above were processed out of Aperture with Nik Color Efex Pro 4.0. I stacked the following filters: Detail Extractor, B&W filter then added a slight Vigenette.

Image 3 above was processed with Nik Silver Efex Pro and a custom preset that I have created.

Interesting shots, Duane. It is not common in my living area that a gallery is focussed on photos; normally they provide only paintings and sculptures.
So you can be glad.
Your local camera club as well has an inspiring webpage.
Will you still have enough time for sending so interesting pictures and comments to this forum as you did in the past.....- hopefully ;-)

Cheers,
JONIE

Duane: the mountains -area for your hiking tour a liitle bit looks like the area where I live in Germany. I am shure you will have great chance for great shots, and I am anxious to see some....

All the best
JONIE

Duane, I rekon you are pretty lucky having such a gallery nearby.
I think they could be buying a few GXR images from you! :)

Thanks for the nice comments. I survived the hike. No time to process photos. In-laws arrive tomorrow and I just got a couple hours ago. However, I posted a couple iPhone shots on my blog when I had a signal up on Mount Pisgah. (blog link in my sig)

Awesome weekend!!
