An interesting comparison. Difficult to really analyse the results on the monitor but the Canon is simply outstanding however, I think the GRD3 has done a very creditable job too and I think that image has the edge on the GF2 for atmosphere.

No doubt, the larger full frame wins by a mile.....it just revelled in the light. I have to say though that the best photo I have ever taken was with the GF2 and 14-42mm kit lens, so go figure. I agree though that the GRD3 is an incredible camera for the money. It performs very very well with nightscapes and of course for street shooting there isn't much out there tomtouch it for me.

Nice idea Peter. I prefer the GRD version.. :D  ;)

Not sure what you mean by 'the best photo'? My 'best photo' posted on this site attracted zero comment! Sometimes best is in the eye of the creator rather than the viewer. Anyway, all your work seems pretty outstanding to me.

Hi Richard,
Ummm, can you post a link to the post on the image you mean? I've enjoyed your images as well, and if it been missed, sorry about that, lets have a look at it now!
I think Peter meant which was the best of the three. I think of course the canon but it has a larger sensor, however the canon is physically larger also!

Thanks for your kind words about my work Richard. When I say my best ever photo, I probably meant my most technically competent. It has also sold quite well too. Looks great in A0 size with a hi gloss black frame. I am very very proud of it and am thrilled that people buy it to put in their home.

Yes, let's see your best shot because I am sorry if I missed it too.

Nice group of photos. I do enjoy well done night scapes.

Thanks Duane. Labour of love! I am entranced by this part of London and it not unusual for me to stay well, well past midnight.

Peter, that picture of the millennium bridge is superb! I suppose I was off on a philosphical bent again by what we mean by 'best'. You've qualified this with most technically competent which is a fair way of looking at it but some of the most memorable images are the ones 'snapped' at the famous decisive moment - which of course you also do too. Did you see David Suchet's programme about his grandfather Jimmy Jarche? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... steps.html. I wonder what he thought his best photo was? He too had a fabulous range.

Anyway, looking back there was one comment (sorry Ripbab) about the picture I think of as my 'best'. I just like it and for me the decisive moment was a stream of late evening sunshine and the GRD close at hand....perhaps it's a bit boring?

all seriously fine images pete

I went onto flickr site and took all first three to full size ... found the GRD and Panasonic very close - but think the Panasonic captured more detail and had a slightly more natural feel . The 5D on this occasion didn't hit it for me ... i found the image somewhat chaotic and heavy on the glare :(

Overall > i go for the Panasonic ;)

Be well ... Kort .
