Another dull and cloudy day here in Yorkshire. While I was re-laying some patio stones my other half waved a padded envelope at me. "What have you been buying now" she demanded.
It was a Pentax-K to 4/3 adapter ring I ordered so I could test some old glass I have had since my Ricoh XR film camera days. This is in the vague hope Ricoh may release an A16 PK mount unit for the GXR now that Pentax patents are no longer an issue. I popped a very ancient looking Tokina RMC 28mm f2.8 on the adaptor and onto my Olympus E-410 DSLR and took a couple of test shots. The corner to corner sharpness seems pretty good, and I'm pleased with the result so far. I guess with the adaptor ring the focal length is probably somewhere near 60mm. I'm not sure how to test his accurately.
Here's a 100% crop. Not bad considering how poor the light is today. I had a 1B skylight filter on and set the aperture at f8. Maybe I'll get a bit of bokeh when the sun shines.
What a difference a bit of light makes. The sun almost came out for 30 seconds, and I grabbed a comparison shot. Here's the crop.
And in a ten second snatch of almost full sun on my way back to the door I grabbed a couple of quick shot of the rambling rose
And a 100% crop
