Thinking madly about buying CX1

Yes - Lhasa Apso is originally from Tibet , used as indoor guard dog,has a superp hearing ability and gives alert with just a little noise he is not used to....

And my little 1year old grand-son playing with my remote , something others would be killed for... :D

CX1 = a very good choice, I hope you enjoy using yours as much as I do mine.

Hi David - That´s for sure , i have read reviews up and down the whole internet for whatever site i could find , looking at photos taken with the camera , without actually knowing the actual size of the camera , i was very very surprised when i got it , perfect small size , so compact with all these features and great shots turn out of this little box!
Before i used a Nikon D40 which i found to be too big for everyday and snapshot usage , found myself looking like a newspaper photographer and everytime on holidays i had to convince myself that i should bring the camera ...these times are definately over now with my little handy CX1 - i love it!

Ah, not quite the same thing. I was thinking Tibetan Terrier. Similar, but longer in the leg, longer hair and slightly larger. Tibetan Terriers where used as rescue dogs to find people lost in the snow. They look the same upside down!

Hi pdrhan,

First, the EXIF must be present in the image. It's often lost during resizing or another image editing operation. Just make sure your editing program is capable of preserving EXIF. And at second, the image must be uploaded to this forum, not just linked from another source ;)

Hi I just got my CX1 about a month ago and will be taking it to The Philippines in april so I will get a chance to really get to know my new camera then.

I really love this camera though.

Nice strong design and very quick.

I am currently living in Sydney Australia but I was born in Hobart, Tasmania and would love to get back to Tassie and take some nice photos there as well because the scenary is very beautiful down there.

Any way, take care everyone.

Hi Garry
Nice to hear! I´m going to Asia this summer for 1 month in june , definately there will be taken a lots of shots with my cx1 also,as written earlier - after i got it in my hands i was totally surprised about its litte size and handyness , i really love it too , and frankly , it looks nice too!

Hi mate,

Nice to meet u.

Yes the CX1 is a nice compact size and very well made.

I was just outside of our place taking photos of my home.

Just wanted to see how the shots came out.

I used 2 settings.

The one for blue skies and greenery and the other one was for dimly lit places.

The photo using the dimly lit scene mode came out quite alot brighter so that mode does collect more light.

It's a bit cloudy here today so it was a good way to find out the difference between these 2 modes.

The blue sky showing out between the clouds does look bluer with the abundant blue sky and greenery mode though.

Where in Asia are u going by the way?

Have you been to Pinoy, (slang for Philippines) at all?

Take care,

Garry. http://www.garrywatkins.ws.

Hi Garry
I´ve never been to Philipines , married with a thai , we always go to Thailand!
But thats a nice place , we will be in bangkok and HuaHin , maybe we will visit our friends in Phuket also but it´s not sure yet , so definately a lots of great photos to come out of that , last year was with my Nikon D40 , but found myself looking like an idiot when taking photos in public due to it´s size...so glad to bring the little cx1 instead!

Wow sounds great.

Never been to Thailand but hopefull will one day.

So much hospitality in Asia I find.

Anyway I have a cannon printer with some glossy photographic paper so I will print off some pics from the CX1 and see how they turn out.

My last camera was a cannon Ixus65.

Not a bad camera but I started noticing that the lcd images were lookng quite blurry after 2 or 3 years of having it so we sent it off to pinoy for our family to play with.

My wife says to me to always count your blessings and hand on whatever u don't need anymore so that's what we did.

Was a little sad to see the old cannon go which I bought in dec 2005 but not after getting the CX1. Happy now. :D .

Sure thing there is a way to upload photos to this forum. Just don't use "quick reply" ;) Follow the steps described here:
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=56

Photos linked from other sites are not processed by forum EXIF reader so there is nothing to display under such photos.
