An interesting location, looks like we are on the attack from this viewpoint :)
The cloudscape is interesting but the modern metal framework at the top of the tower a distraction.
I think there are more images and a different viewpoint/time of day etc that may work better here.
 
I rather like this shot, perhaps a high contrast B&W version [minus the metal frame] could be worth a try.

Good composition.

Yes, this could conjure up the thoughts of an abandoned Fort or sentry post. Its curious as to what this structure was. :roll:
 
It is ruins of genoa castle Tasili on the hill near Morskoe settlement in Crimea. Unfortunately this is only one part of the whole castle remained.

I personally like the first image for its point of view - from a hillside little below. As Tim said it makes feel as we'd like to be invisible for the fortress guards. :) But you probably right, B&W could be better here.
