The old oyster leases

At Kurnell in Sydney, there's a few places where the old oyster farm industry's ceased to be about ten years ago..The workers just left it all behind.....Interesting place..

Good set of photos. Thanks for very interesting insight into the history! These abandoned places offer a lot of photographic opportunities. I guess this place must be now full of oysters?
 
Actually they used to grow/farm the oysters on wooden beds erected in the shallows offshore. There are still the remnants of leftover beds scattered all around.....though no oysters endemic to this area as its all sand and mangroves with little or no rocks at all.
