Starting with two similar images although taken one week and some 200km away from each other.

The chimney of the heating plant in the second shot drew my attention so I tried to make some detail of the scene. How do you like it? I am not sure with the result though...

Like the chimneys a lot. Also like the fact that the image is light. At first glance it looks like it should be darker but that might make it more mainstream :-)
 
Thanks, ricohnick. The visibility was not good that time as can be seen in the middle photo so even when using the maximal available 300mm tele there was a miserable contrast in the image. When post-processing, adding even more contrast started to emphasize ugly blotchy patterns over the background revealing the truth it was taken as JPEG. Maybe RAW would be a better choice in this particular case.

I like these photos, particularly the composition & the way you have controlled the lens flair in #2 and the low contrast in #3, great shots.

Beautiful vistas Peter. The last photograph would of been difficult to shoot with the haze & into the sun.
