Tele Lens

New Member
Would some kind member post a GRIIIx comparison. As shot with the 26mm lens and the same scene (obviously showing less) with the Tele lens?
I'd like to see what the quality is like before pre-paying and ordering one.....thank you.
Attached is a curious cow (Tele would have been better, his mom was close and protective!)

Hi David,

I have both, the GR3 and the GR3x. The difference between the two is on one hand, that with the GR3x you do not need to get as close to the subject to have the same "framing" and that with the GR3x you "compress" foreground and background more. This give a different impression of the image, with which you can create different photos.

Of course you have also more possibilities to isolate your subject and blurr the background more. But bear in mind that the GR3x has an APS-C sensor and is still "only" a 40mm lens (in FF terms) and has "only" an aperture of F2.8 (which would be in FF terms around F4.0).

This is not a 85/1.4 lens ;)

You can see comparison shots in this thread:

There`s a teleconverter for GRIIIx making it 75mm, isn`t it?

Teleconverter making it 75mm would be better and optically should be fine. I have only experience with their wide ones which are of excellent quality, even wide with opened lens.
