Tall Twins

Maybe nothing inventional, but I like the angle giving a feeling of monumentality so enjoy with me.

I think the clean clear air and the pale thin canopy of spring green on the crown makes it for me. That, and the texture and contrast of the scars on the silver bark, and the depth of field...
Trees are awesome and even this 'cliche' (but yet not cliche) view gives such a wonderful feeling of flexible strength...I can almost see/feel them swaying in the wind Peter!
Nice...

Very interesting, yes! I love the shadows on the trees, and I imagine how would this work on BW... I like the colours, no doubt, but the graphic BW look atracts me very much on this strong composition;-)

I hope you don't mind, but I couldn't resist, sorry...

Thanks for encouraging comments.

Rui I am not used to BW photography much. If trying it, then mainly on abstracts. However, your trial is quite interesting as the scene is not about colours in this case. Thanks and naturally, no objections. :)

This was a tough one. Like Andy I like the springy air thing with pretty blue and green colors, but the B/W really makes a strong impact.

Peter,

I like the angle, I am curious as to why these trees are joined at the hip? or is this one tree?

Here is a similar view looking up that I took many years ago, long before digital was popular.
Taken with an Olympus OM4 and 21mm Zuiko if I recall, in the rain forests of northern Australia

I can add a small tall tree under a rain-filled late afternoon autumn sky...my twin is a bit on the skinny side though... :(

Andy, that is a fabulous canopy, Peter, sorry about hijacking your thread! Seems we all like a few tree images!
My original scan is somewhat better, the file I have here is a copy from my flickr account - I suspect they re-compress images when posted!

It seemed to be one plant with one bunch of roots, however branched in its early life stage into two equally dominant tips. Something like Siamese twins.

I see... and am writing a note down into my notepad to remember... ;)

By the way, good shots both of you. Tim's monochromatic in green/white, Andy's monochromatic in yellow/white. Almost. :)

Hehe, Thanks Peter!
Now that I take a closer look at my image, I seem to recall it may have been taken with the 16mm f3.5 full frame fisheye lens.
Back in the 90's at some point I decided I had to have a fisheye and bought one new as I could not get such a lens used!!
