Taking apart the X100

Ok, its not a Ricoh but nonetheless I found this fascinating to see the internals of the Fuji X100.
Its a shame that this guys camera got drowned. The salt sure if harsh on the electronics and metal work and the lens.
Maybe we should all have a Ricoh PX in the collection just for these trips?!

Fascinating operation!
I am now considering taking a look at the innards of my PX, as I'm starting to get blur on the right side of my shots : http://ricohforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=8658
No Ricoh service here for thousands of kms. around, and I'm not sure it's worth the trouble of sending it abroad. They now sell for less than 200$, and who knows - the damage might not be included in the warranty. Although I have not done anything extreme at all with the camera.
Too bad - I've been enjoying it, and it's not even a year old.
I now see that I can send it to the repair service in Germany - I wonder how much all this will cost...?

What a long way gone from Fred Flintstone's camera consisting of poor two inner parts (a bird with its hard beak plus a stone "film"). Really fascinating evolution.
