It was blowing a bit here on the Black Isle over the weekend...
still trying to get to grips with my 'free' version of Photoshop Elements 8.0 (it came bundled with a Canon scanner) and feel I am finally making enough progress to post something! :D

Hi,

I like the wildness and clarity of detail of this photo; and the angle. It seems as if you must have got your feet wet; or is this from a peer, somehow ?. Also of interest, is whether you are at all concerned about the salt breeze w.r.t. the electronics of the camera?.

Chris,
no wet feet as I was just above the waters edge. And yes, I was VERY concerned about salt in the works, so this was a very quick 'snap shot' then camera straight back in my pocket...I hope it survives! :?
Just could not resist the attempted capture... ;)

I'd missed this - great work Andy - this was a whole gale (Force 8) at Fortrose and watching the boats on the moorings - especially when one of them is yours - was not pleasant!

Next time you are up PM me and perhaps we could have that Ricoh meeting in a pub? If you are in Rosemarkie and would like to see some great early black & white work, visit Groam House Museum and take a look at the Harbouring Heritage community exhibition - there are shots of Fortrose dating from the 1890s.

Andy,

Sounds good - and the exhibition will still be on.

Richard

Thanks Athena.
On re-examination I still like it though getting the salt crust off those wee GRD lenses is no mean feat... :?

Very nice photo Andy, it must have been quite a storm there. I like the tonal range and limited palette of colors also the contrast is just right. Thanks for this view.
