Today I was shooting with my GXR-m . It was a warm , humid , sultry sort of day and although I have a strap on the camera I was just holding it by my side by the rubberized grip with my right hand , as all of us have done before , deciding what I wanted to shoot next . All of a sudden I felt like I was losing my grip on the camera . I quickly lifted so I could see what was going on and the rubber grip was sliding right off the body . Sticky gooey glue got all over my fingers as I slid it back in place and also got on the metal . That was a number of hours ago and it has cooled off quite a bit but the grip is still sliding around a some . What do you think ? Is the glue just ruined ? Should I pull the whole mess off, clean it all up and re-glue ?
Thank you in advance for any comments and/or suggestions

I think that happened in couple of occasions with others. I would reglue with something resistant to heat.

Especially, we need to avoid the glue Neoprene, because this adhesive returns in a liquid state when the temperature is high!
There are adhesives of the same family, but without this fault, used in the automobile to paste the linings on the metal;
can be your sheathing has been pasted with the neoprene,out to your knowledge?

Same here, the grip has become unglued after one year of use, this seems to be a common issue / complain with the GXRs. I just took the whole thing off, cleaned it really well and reglued with UHU flexible gel - made for rubber which is quote strong but still retains its flexibility.

I have removed the rubber and cleaned all the residual goo off of both the camera body and the rubber . Naturally I managed to spill solvent all over the back of the camera but there appears to be no ill effect . Now I am considering what sort of adhesive to use to put it back with . Super glue ? Flex epoxy ? Permanent double sided tape ? I am sort of leaning toward the flex epoxy as there is some sort of tape or plastic coating on the body where the rubber lies and if I needed to get the rubber back off for some reason I believe I could apply a little heat and peel it off again . Anybody out there have a strong opinion one way or another ?

A covering like Leica vulcanite or pebbled black leather would be real cool for my GXR with the slippy-grip issue. Anybody know of a source for this?

Did it myself. Removed the mushy, shape-shifted rubber coverings and took an hour to clean off the goo-ey glue. Then stuck some Bison-kit double-sided tape on it and stuck old leatherette from a German folder camera on that.

The grip is firm now and it feels real tight, tactile feel is 100% improved.

I can recommend it to anybody!
