I like the 2nd composition. Any reason you chose B&W?

Thanks Spode. I just decided to go square & B&W for a change. I also thought the bales & shadows might look a bit more graphic in B&W. Last night I stayed with square but with colour as the light & sky were really nice - one post below. This field is just outside our house and when it is in stubble we walk the dogs there most evenings so I tend to photograph it a lot (too much!).

The last colour shot is a classic, a nice classic. Our city is surrounded by corn fields this year so no straw bale shots this time. :)

I like first and color one. Remind me of Europe, end of summer. These slightly pinkish straws - i like this color, a lot, sun must have been pretty low...

don't get me wrong the b&w are nice pictures but i like the color picture best.

it's a beautiful landscape.

looks like i should go on a vacation in scotland next year.
are the landscapes in winter also as beautiful as in summer?

Guys thanks for all the comments. 5four, I'm seeing quite a few Belgian tourists up here at the moment so perhaps you can find someone to give you an unbiased view on holidays in Scotland. The winter landscape is generally...wintery. We are also approaching that time of year when we get progressively less day light than our southern neighbours.
