Duane, May I be the first to shake your hand. Its not easy to back down in a competition but you had the honesty and are a gentleman to do so!
Congratulations to of course the winner fabuchan, it was well deserved on a tough subject,
But also congratulations to Duane for getting many votes and doing the right thing, its what this forum is about!

Arrrgh! I couldn't place my vote, too much work, too little time... :-(
Thanks everyone - I didn't have time to place my vote either sorry - (just back from holiday to find out about the good news) - but congratulations to everyone for the high quality of your submissions.
Just let me say a few words about my submission to this contest.
After the tragedy that hit Japan earlier this year, I have put together "Shine on Japan", a selection of photographs taken in Tokyo between 2008 and early 2011 belonging to various projects of mine. This was my humble attempt to try and protect the image of Japan that I have learnt to love and admire over the years. The photo submitted for this contest was what I considered to be the symbol of "Shine on, Japan", the symbol of my support to Japan. The fact that I had such positive feedback from you for something related to an issue so close to my heart makes me even happier.
