Sergey, to prevent a degradation of a photograph by processing it outside the camera by some third party software, when as in your case the white balance needs to be correct only, some cameras allow to process the raw directly in them. It is then like shooting directly to JPG, also in sense of the image quality, so no higher noise appears. Try it if possible.
No, it was not just white balance correction. I've also raised "fill light" value to highlight trees and top of the church - and as result the noise in the dark areas. But thanks for suggestion, I will try to remember it.
