ricoh px bad in indoor

Hi all,
I have a ricoh px camera with the latest firmware.

I am very happy with it outside but in indoor (with the default setting, latest firmware) I got pictures which I think are not good as they should.

The pictures are full of noise and I was unable to find a setting to correct it.

I attach a sample reduced a lot to fit the 3mb file attach limit (with faces hidden so my friends will not complain .
Can someone explain if it is a expected result for this camera or I am missing something ?

Hi gmarco and welcome here!

The PX can make satisfactory shots indoors, but it's best to use it in "P" mode, and restrict the ISO setting to 400. Here are 2 shots I just took to show you that indoor shots with artificial lighting can come out quite OK, without pixellation. These are straight out of the camera, no post processing.

In fact, you can start at 100 ISO, and if this is not good enough, manually raise the ISO until you get a satisfactory result.

If you need help in using the menus, don't hesitate to ask, there are a few PX owners here beside myself.

thank very much for your kind reply.

I have created a couple of favorite shot mode modifying the vanilla P with 100 or 400 iso (max 400) and saving it in My1-2 setting (this also a nice features of this little camera).

The shots are much better now stating that it was NOT a camera fault but only a newbie photographer.
