It contains focal-plane shutter mechanism. Unlike the A12 modules equipped with the leaf shutter, the M mount module utilizes a completely new focal-plane shutter, which makes the body a bit bulkier on the left side. And I guess, it will be also a bit louder than the A12 shutter. I'm curious about the maximum shutter speed allowed with the M mount? The M8 (with similar focal plane shutter) initially allowed 1/8000, but it was very loud, so Leica engineers designed much more silent shutter at a cost of reduced shutter speed to 1/4000.
