Ricoh GR1 DATE > roll of film not exposed?

Hi,

My first time loading the GR1, the panel read 0 and so I opend the back and adjusted the length of film . I loaded the film again and saw the panel read from 0 to 25. I finished the film and heard the camera rewind the film back . When I developed the film, there was nothing there - I haven't used the developer(Ilfosol 3) for a couple of weeks now but still it should have developed the images.

Has anyone got any suggestions on what the problem might be? I am testing another roll to see what the really is the problem. Everytime I press the shutter button the camera seems to make the rewind noise. Also is the rewinding on the GRs quite noisy? As I have a Yashica T4 Zoom which is a lot quieter. Thanks.

As far as I remember (from my short experience with GR1s), the film rewinding is very noisy. GR1 is not the quietest camera ;)

As for you problem with not exposed film, it's hard to say? There is always a possibility there is something wrong with your GR1. Did you hear the shutter open/close sound after pressing the shutter button?

I think the best thing you can do is to expose the second roll of film and develop it in a photo lab. Just to confirm or exclude the problem in your development process. If this second roll will also be empty, then there is most probably something wrong with your camera. Probably broken (stick) shutter?
