I just skimmed my records and found that shot again, one of my very first with Ricoh GRD.
It shows a view over the Rhine valley near Bonn on a cold winter day in 2006, (very cold- as I can remember)
I first noticed layers, the rocks layer, the snow, the trees, the distant hills and finally the skyscape.
Its well composed and has subtle tones, a good image. Knowing it location now, adds a bit of the exotic.
I agree with Athena, it would work as a calendar image.
I am not ready for winter and so not ready to get the gloves and scarf out of the closet. But this photo is just spectacular. I could hang out here for a bit and enjoy the view!
