Rainy day at Circular Quay (Sydney)

Athena

New Member
The Circular Quay area in Sydney is a very popular place for tourists and locals alike. On the day I was there, there were still the usual street performers/buskers, along with lots of people, despite the fact that it was raining all day. There was fog all over Sydney Harbour and it was a great opportunity for some B&W shots (although, I've included a couple of colour shots, as those particular shots just looked better in colour IMO). Anyway, it was one of my few attempts at street photography, and I had plenty of people giving me "the eye" .

Thank you for showing these beautiful photos Athena.
Although I am a big fan of black and white, I find photo number 18 really a great shot.
Eventually (it was difficult to make a choice) is the last photo (#20) my favorite in this series.
Very nice work!
I've enjoyed looking at them :D

B&W fits the weather mood very well Athena.
Here, it was raining all the day today. Even the Formule 1 race in Budapest was wet. And later, for a change, one TV channel gave a catastrophic movie (lasting for about 4 hours) about a horrible flood in England. A nice summer weekend, indeed. :?

A number of nice moments captured here, but I really like #9 the best for the composition with the staircase and other structures. Nice work...

so much life - not stopping for the rain :D a really interesting and fun group of images Athena , i like the Harbour Bridge in the rainy mist of image '12' but image numer '8' , with different layers from seagulls onwards , is my favourite ;)

I have a relation just taken work in Sydney , will move there soon, and i think will have much 'good times' :D

Cheers , Kort .

Thank you Ray, it's always intersting to see what pictures people like the most, and why :D

Thank you Kort :D . Yes, that's the sort of feeling I was hoping to capture in these pictures - that people were still doing their usual thing and having fun regardless of the rain. Again, it's interesting to know which pictures are your favourites - so far, everyone has had different favourites, which I'm quite pleased about as it helps me in the learning process. I hope your relative enjoys their new life in Sydney - yes, Sydney has it's problems like anywhere, but overall, it's a pretty good city to live in  .
