Great idea, ricohnick! And I really like the friendly dialogue of images in informal threads like this. Now, to mine my archives for door shots...

There are many intriguing doors and windows in Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar.

Here a nicely decorated doorway in the cloisters at Redon Abbey in Brittany.
And that's my other half crashing in front of me with her newly acquired Canon SX230HS
I don't know who she thinks she is... Davina Bailey or someone. ;)
I wouldn't mind, but I'm having a hard time keeping up with the P10, because she has 30% more zoom than me.

Having a play around with lenses on the GXR-M unit to see if I can retain the exif data during processing with PSE 8: sadly not yet   ! :?
Oh well! Inverness Cathedral, by the way...
Andy
PS, now see it there! This calls for a whisky to celebrate! :D

Glad to see the 2013 doors are off to such an enthusiastic start! For example, the almost dead red phone box and the stunning b&w explosive ones above...

Here is another one that will be familiar to Andy.....the door to the Old Water Mill in Munlochy. It's is believed that the carved lintel may have come from another building....this sort of thing is more normal on a residential building.

This was a GRD4 shot using AUTO DRC and manual 1/64th fill-in flash.

This is the side door on a make shift garage - a PX shot. The door serves no practical purpose beyond keeping rain & wind off.
