Noise reduction..

I've noticed most if not all the jpeg recipes have noise reduction off.
Is there a reason for that or some benefit?

I am not sure what you mean with "noise recipes". Do you mean the ooc Jpegs?

Yes the sooc jpeg recipes. There is an in camera noise reduction setting..

I never checked this. My guess is that Ricoh leaves it to us to decide the level of compromise between less noisy but worse image quality and more noisy with better image quality.

But to be honest I never played with these settings. I should do this in the future. I am sure there is a good reason for it. We have to find out. Maybe others know it?
