new sensor for CX2?

I guess so. I think CX2 is near the corner and this new sensor could be a very nice addition. We will soon see

It seems such an obvious way to build the sensor, you wonder why it wasn't that way from the start? :?

The increase sensitivity and lower noise claims are exciting, here's hoping they will deliver. I am glad this is on CMOS sensor too as they seem to be the most capable all round and have the speed. Hopefully DR will be improved too.

Well, I still think the size of sensor and number of megapixels is still a serious issue. It's definitely nice to see all these CCD/CMOS improvements. But increasing number of megapixels is no way to go. It's bad for noise and for dynamic range. But it seems the megapixel war is now (finally) paused?

Hmm the new Sony Exmore sensor looks really good! It would be nice to have this sensor in CX2. See the samples posted in bellow link...

Sure, the images are smeared. But there is almost no trace of color noise and the images looks very good, considering they are from tiny sensor!
