Hello out there,

i just changed my PC and got myself an iMac and worked last night till sunset to get Silkypix or Elements 6 ( both for Mac of cause ) to do what i want. But it`s not working and i already started to look after my old PC again ( but it is realy very old ).

I cant`t open any RAW files in both programs and i know that this is a normal "user problem". But i don`t know what i did wrong because i went exactly ( ? ) after the book. But no RAW........

Photoshop says that there is a problem every time t try to open a picture from iphoto to Elements. And in PC it was so easy.

Can anybody help ????? ( please )

What's wrong with Silkypix? And what version do you have? Do you by any chance use SP shipped with Panasonic cameras? Because this version is crippled to open only Panasonic RAW files. How exactly are you trying to open DNG in SP?

i don`t use anything else than Silkypix and iPhoto. I shiped all my caplio files from my external HD to Mac. I use the developer 3.0 and the only problem is that i can`t open and even see any RAW files while silkypix is open. There is no problem to see and work with the raw files in iphoto. But this is not realy a "program" to work with GR RAW files.....

thank you very much for your help ( again ).......... :D

If I got you right, you imported all photos from an external HDD to iPhoto library? I'm not behind the MAC right now, but I think you cannot access the individual photos stored in iPhoto with a 3rd party SW like Silkypix? If I'm not mistaken, all iPhoto files are stored in a single-file database? This is why I don't use iPhoto. I hate the idea to have all photos in a single-file database that can always get corrupted.

What you need is to simply copy all your files from external HDD to a similarly structured folder structure on MAC HDD. Or leave them on external HDD and simply access that external HDD from Silkypix.

Thank`s a lot, it looks like you had the right idea ( like always ;) ). First DNG is open on silkypix and Elements. Now i will see wich one fits better to me......... :geek:

thank you again Pavel
