New GXR Mark II body

I think nobody outside Ricoh can confirm that yet. But it's pretty logical and widely expected step. If for noting else, an external AF sensor is a very good reason, because it could significantly speed up the AF of all existing modules. So even if there will be released updated version of existing modules, old modules will not get so obsolete. Articulated screen is also something people asked for from the very first GXR day. Plus it will surely get the newest 1mil dot LCD, already used in the GRDIV and CX6. We may only hope there will be integrated EVF, but I doubt about this point, because this would make the body noticeably bigger.

I wouldn't mind a little bigger body to get an integrated viewfinder. They would probably have to eliminate the built-in flash to do it and keep the hot shoe.

+1 for me too. I'd like the integrated EVF. Its more to do with bagging the camera. The external EVF nodule would be a constant worry for me or limit the type of bags you could use. I've also happily lose the flash for EVF. It would be a rare flashless camera - how many flashless cameras are there? not many!

Well your top end pro DSLRs don't have built-in flash. Plus with an updated sensor would definitely have better low light capability also helping not having the flash. I mainly use the flash now for fill in the daytime.

Tilt screen is very handy for low-angle shots (for example macro shots close to the ground).

Also nice for self portraits. And last but not least if it is done the canon way you can fold the LCD inside, nice for screen protection when you use the EVF.

Is it a must have? For me not but nice to have: yes.

I guess I hadn't thought about the folding inside out method of Canon. That would definitely be a benefit and would change my opinion at bit. :ugeek:

I had this arrangement of tilt out on my old Olympus C5050 (another sell regret) and I probably used in 5-10% of the time. A significant amount.
While not a make or break deal for me it is definitely a useful feature.

Yeah I used that all of the time with my old Canon Powershot S2. The camera that started the serious photography path for me
