new GXR FW 1.43 available to download

Ricoh has just released new GXR FW fixing two known (A12) problems:

- Corrected the ISO speed settings when taking a picture with ISO-LO. Basically it fixed the ISO-Lo level of brightness. Previously, it produced 1EV overexposed photos.
- Modified the following phenomenon. While framing with Pre-AF [On], there may be a case that the camera repeats focus movement, or that the camera will not respond.

You can get the FW here:

Just a side note. It seems the first fix corrected the ISO-Lo overexposure, but unfortunately, there is yet another problem left. The ISO-Lo photos are not processed by the Image Settings (contrast, saturation, sharpness). No matter what Image Setting is set (at ISO-Lo), the photos lacking the touch of contrast/saturation.

Can the DNG files be "fixed" in post process?

The problem I mentioned is pure JPEG related. It has nothing to do with DNG, because Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness are only applied to JPEG. In DNG, there is just written an info about Image Settings to EXIF.

I don't know what I was thinking when I responded as I know the DNG files are that, RAW. Thanks for your quick response!

I have not installed the last FW version.
Can I immediately grab the last version or do I have to install the "missing version" first?

Yep, you can install the most recent version over any previous version you have installed. The new version always contains all changes from previous versions.

Thanks Pavel :D

Maybe this weekend I do my first FW-update ever
