Neglected Pavilion Southend on Sea, Essex

Very interesting Peter (and of course nice pictures ;) ) , which was the purpose of this place?

Hi all, thanks for comments. Southend on Sea is really on the River Thames Estuary, almost at the sea. It is about 30 miles from my home and I am a frequent visitor. The pavilion is somewhere one could sit as a holiday maker, promenader or whatever, shelter from sun, rain, read a book or a news journal, picnic, people watch etc. I like this pavilion, so much care went into its construction. It is a shame it has been left like this. I have a soft spot for art deco and would like to see it refurbished.

Nice images of a very interesting -- for me also a bit strange -- place. Thanks for sharing and for the explanation as well.

Abandoned! Is it possible?
In France such a pavilion will be full of sad grafittis...
Il think there is a lot of nice photos to do if you can enter.
I should do it if it was near my home.
