My new hardware

Enjoy!!! Someday, I want a FF camera for my Zeiss C Sonnar 50mm... just may have to be a Leica if no other options arise.

Keep us posted Duane. Love to hear your experience and see your pictures.

Another step on that photographic journey - the Leica M-E should keep you occupied for many years (making it great value for money!).

Looking forward to seeing some results.

Richard

Congrats Duane. By the way, couldn`d you wait a bit for the new M. You know LV, wich most of all lets you shot with any lens, no worries about RF calibration, videos. It`ll be interesting to compare M-E sensor (CCD) to M`s ( CMOS). Talking about imrovements. Ricoh have a mercy on GXR users.
Just put that bloody sensor from Pentax 5KIIs in m-unit!. Sensor upgrade wouldn`t be bad either. Stanislaw

Hi Duane,
it certainly looks great! ;) Looking forward to your personal review in due course... :D

Congrats Duane! - I'm waiting for GXR sensor upgrade; until then, I got a bargain: this fine 36 shot sensor camera body...

I seriously thought about waiting but figured I'd be waaaaay down the wait list and wouldn't see one for a while. Plus, by the time the new M arrived my wife might have changed her mind!

Thanks Don. A PM is on its way. Foggy here today but didn't stop me from getting some lake shots that I will get to a little later. Trying to get comfortable with the didn't feel of handling the body to include coordinating setting exposure comp with the set dial while holding the shutter part way down. Still experimenting with standard and soft shutter release. With soft shutter release setting you can't lock exposure with the shutter button. Its just too sensitive.

But the two things I'm really diggin is the big bright viewfinder and the sound of the shutter. Classic!

Duane, What lenses do you have right now?

All I have is a Leica Summicron-M 35mm v2. I also have the Leica 40mm Summicron that I have up for sale to fund a Leica 50mm Summicron. I know Albert here is going to say Zeiss Sonnar but I've heard there are issues with focus shift.

BTW, I've posted some images today to my blog that I took walking the dog.
