My daughter Jimena and my best lens, the Minolta 100mm f2

At least is a rare and hard to find lens: Minolta 100mm f2, mounted on my Sony A700. I am always using the GX200 for casual shots, but the bokeh of a 100mm lens at f2.2 is something that I always like. And my daughter's eyes too ;) She is making me very old

Only resized from JPG and darkened a bit her face

Gsaronni,

Great shot! She has beautiful and expressive eyes.
Did you (perchance) process it using DxO Optics Pro prior to further processing in PS CS4 (as the EXIF data states)?

Great portrait (and nice model too)! This Minolta is manually focused lens, right? There is something special about these old lenses made with different technology and materials. I really wish Ricoh would make GXR sensor-only module with lens mount for manual lenses ;)

She's lovely, lively and cute. Impressive picture. I also have a daughter, This shot is reminded of her when she was young. :)

Hi Pavel. The Minolta 100mm f2 is an AF lens from 1987. It was not branded as a G lens(this marketing label similar to L in canon) was introduced one year later. It is not a G lens but it has all the characters of them: contrast, great light transitions, sharpness wide open and beatifil colours

I just used PS CS 4 to dark a bit the face and resize the photo

My other near perfect lens is a 200/2.8 AF from 1986. I think this one is even better than the 100/, but the focal length is too long in APS. Some days ago I used it on a full frame Sony A900, and the 200mm was a great focal length for portraits

I think the Ricoh cameras are a perfect pair of a DSLR, the portraits are something hard to get on little sensor cameras

gsaronni,
that is one awesome portrait. The sharpness, the bokeh and the colour rendering all come together.
Impressive work!

A nice portrait of a nice subject. Congrats to both in whatever order, gsaronni. If you are made very old, what should we other with (much) older daughters say? Are we alive yet at all? ;)

Peter

A beautiful child with very nice work from you & your camera. Who needs pro photographers with a talented dad. :)
