Mount GR to Telescope

wattage

New Member
Hello everyone. I'm new to the board and I just ordered a GR yesterday. Are there any mounts, adapters, holders, contraptions, DIYs, etc. available for the GR that will connect it to a telescope?

I have a simple Meade refractor telescope and previously, I used a T-mount and T-Ring to connect my Nikon DSLR. Worked beautifully! http://www.flickr.com/photos/superwattage/sets/72157635216345105/

But I just sold my DSLR outfit to downsize and fund the GR. If nothing else, I'll use a tripod to hold the lens up to the eyepiece. I searched the forum, but didn't find anything on the subject.

Any ideas?

The only starting point I can suggest is the GR accessories list a Hood and Adapter.

The adapter will give you a 49mm thread to which you may be able to screw onto something?
I suspect though that the adapter needs some kind of optics?

There are other aspects to Astro photography, like sensor and camera over-heating and battery life being a limitation.
I can't say if the GR is a good choice for such use?

Good idea. Will check out the accessories. Who knows, might work. If not, I'll rig something up.

Getting up early to catch a crescent moon...that'll be the tough part.

Looking forward to using the GR. Looks like's the ultimate 'always with you' camera.
