We did better than a cuppa. Hidden behind the embankment at the right hand end of the viaduct there's a very good pub where we enjoyed the local Dent Brewery Ale and a good fish pie.

As you can see, the cloudbase was low over Whernside at the time I took this shot so we decided on a walk along the limestone escarpment rather than a climb up.

I think I prefer the composition of your second shot...perhaps taken after the pint(s) of Dent Ale?
