Thank you all who participated in the April contest (vote here)! Sometimes is very hard to select the best contest photos! Let's start with MAY contest!

Theme:
The theme for this month is "POLICE, COPS, SHERIFFS"! This contest theme may be a bit thought, because photographing cops is not always easy and in these mad "anti-terrorist" times even banned in many countries. But I'm sure, you can find some nice "cops" photos in your photo collections?

Rules:
You may post one photo right in reply to this post. Please, do not link them from other sites! Use the "Upload Attachment" instead.
Contest photo must be taken with Ricoh camera!
The max size of the photo is limited to 1024x768 and the file must contain EXIF!
Please guys, make sure your photo contains EXIF! Entries without EXIF will be disqualified!

The deadline for posting contest photos is 31.05.2009 at 12PM forum time

Thanks Cris! This is a known problem with exif mod in this forum. It seems it does not like some exifs. Resaving the problematic file with xnview or another image viewer usually helps.

I'm still have doubts about my photo, and maybe I'll have a good chance for some cops shots (no pun intended) until the end of the month... :roll:

Anyway, here's my first choice. Taken in the beggining of a huge (in Portuguese numbers) manifestation against the new labor laws.

Photograph taken during a Support American War-resisters in Canada rally. Canada was kind to American war-resisters during the Vietnam war. The current Conservative government is not kind at all to American Iraq war-resisters.

I have deleted my photo.

It's too bad that you're concentrating on rules and not on content.

This has happened more than once: I'm trying to upload an attachment and it gets rejected with this error:

"The upload was rejected because the uploaded file was identified as a possible attack vector." I have never had this problem anywhere else on the web and have never heard of an "attack vector".

The rule about not linking photos is clearly mentioned in each monthly contest description (written with big bold letters)...

Of course, the content of the photo is always important. But linking photos often lead to lost/missing photos, which is especially pity in the contest threads. It may not be lost next week or next month but it may eventually disappear when you decide to delete it or simply switch to another photo hosting. So this is why there is such (maybe stupid, but very reasonable) rule for contest entries. In addition, and as you noticed, your linked photo lost EXIF, because Flickr preserves EXIF only in the "Original" sized photos.

I'm sorry for problems with uploading your photo, but if you check this link, you will realize that it's not solely RicohForum problem. I will of course investigate this problem. It seems to me that it has something to do with EXIF. If you send me your file (via support@ricohforum.com email), I can upload it for you, the same as I did it for VladimirV's entry. In addition, it will help me to track the "attack vector" problem down.
