Manual focusing very close causes focus to malfunction

Hi,

I have a strange behavior with my GRD IV and I am wondering if anybody else has it.
Here are the steps:
Set the camera to manual focus
Focus as close as possible using the macro button, when you are at the minimum you hear some clicking noise if you insist going closer
Now try to focus on an object far away, you will notice that the camera infinite position is now more or less 3 centimeter on the focus distance indicator
Set the camera to autofocus
The camera is unable to autofocus anymore.
Switching off and on solves the problem

I don't want to send my camera to repair for this because it's not a critical problem.
But I am wondering if this is a known problem, and if it could get worse with time.

Thanks,
Pierre

Thanks for checking on your camera.
I will not get it repaired because it's not a terrible problem.

I'm running 2.30 also and my camera will not do what you listed.
Maybe try a reset to start over.

Hi Pierre, turn the camera ON, enter to menu and switch to Key Custom Option menu (circle with arrow keys). Now at the bottom you can find the Restore Defaults option. This will reset the camera back to factory defaults. Unfortunately, I don't think this will help you. Your problem sounds more like a mechanical failure.
