Manfrotto Pocket Tripod

Hey all - I've got a gray Manfrotto Pocket attached to my WGRD4 (W for white) and it has come in handy at the most unexpected times. It's unobtrusive when attached and everyone who handles my camera thinks it's really part of the camera ;)

It's quite stable since the GRD is light anyway.

My only gripe is that it needs to be removed or unscrewed and moved out of the way to access the battery/memory slot door. It's not too much of a bother though since I carry an Atwood tool on my keychain anyway that I use for the screw.

I'll post photos when I have time, since I mount it in such a way (not directly centered on the camera body, but to the leftmost part to line up with LCD screen and lens) that actually helps in gripping the camera when I shoot from the hip.

Would you post a picture of your camera with it?

I've been curious about these and the joby gorillapod micro.

It is a problem mounting a tripod to any Ricoh these days as the battery has to go somewhere & lens / sensor mechanics take up any room left.
The price we pay for a pocketable camera.
I have a great little pocket tripod from Ricoh Japan. But it does block access to the battery compartment.

The joby gorillapod micro also looks like a promising option, particularly the 800-gram capacity model.

I have just ordered the Manfrotto MP1-C01 for my Ricoh GR, looks like an interesting bit of kit. I will report back once I have used it.
