I wrote not long ago about my cheap home hack to attach a CPL (or any filter with that hack) to my IV. Whilst cheap and relatively compact, what I didnt like was giving up my GL-1 which I use 95% of the time with the GRD.
I had previously looked at the Carry Speed Mag Filter in a moment of almost weakness in nearly buying a RX-100. What I liked about the Mag Filter was when unattached your camera is less than 1mm wider.
Looking again the other week, I dug more into their size options, and saw they had the CPL available for the Canon S100. Knowing it was similar in size, I went to the specifications and compared the mag ring size to my IV's front lens area - pretty much perfect!
Ive made a decision (at least for now) to stay with my IV while its still solid as a rock. Upgrading cameras for the latest and greatest is a never ending pit to throw ones money into - not that thats putting anyone down who does upgrade each release - but really, its a costly hobby when approached from that angle. With that in mind I pushed the purchase button for USD $34.99 on the 36mm CPL filter.
It arrived and sat on my bench for a week whilst work kept me away from the time to put it on.
Today was the day.
Always a little to keen to just apply and go with things like this, Im never all too patient setting up a photo booth, so I found some light in the hall and took the following snaps. Review in use will have to come another day, but needless to say, it applied on easy and when stored away in its soft pouch allows the GL-1 to sit back where it belongs.
