It's sprouting up all over the place !
I searched this forum for fungus and not a lot came up.
Feel free to add your new fungi here.

Looks good enough to eat! :D
I tried a number of times with my GX100 to photograph fungi but it was almost impossible with that camera as the lack of high ISO capability and the often low light of fungi locations was entirely the wrong combination to try!
However, I have a mind to try it with my M-mount, if the narrow DoF does not trip me up! :)
Or, like you, with the A16...
Andy

Looks good, true, but I would not even touch it with a bare hand as it looks it is one of the deadly poisonous toadstools (Amanita pantherina). ;)

Peter

Well the little fungi is still there. (not been kicked to bits by morons !) (yet)
And as you can see, he has a mate, a day younger i suspect.
This shot is an HDR from 3 raw frames. As you can see by the set up picture, the shot
was made easier by using a Benbo Trekker.

I really like #1 I can almost see the Pixies living there.
Thanks for posting the how it was done pic with the tripod but it kind of took a bit of the magic away?!

Very nice shots. I like the illumination in the first two. The groaner of the day: Better fungus in front of the lens than in the lens.

Wolfgang

Nice shots...as suggested I've added one of my own taken later last month.

You sure have some vivid dangerous looking stuff up there Richard.
Ive got my eye on some up and comings. Should be ready soon.

Some more from today's dog walk.....at least fungus likes this weather. Pleased with the GRD4 given the light levels and rain - I had to push the ISO up a bit and it's at times like this you wish for a tilting screen.

This one looks a bit less threatening than most you see around here....

Ripbab,

I like your latest set a lot - the light is very good and the colours - especially #3 - are great. Nice to see some GRD4 shots too - were these taken in RAW? You are more dedicated at kneeling than I am...the trouble I have is that as soon as I hit the ground the dogs think I've found something interesting and generally get in the way of a shot.

Richard

All shot in raw. I use aperture and I think it does a good job in processing the DNG files without much input from me.
Perhaps a small amount of WB tweaking and brightness or exposure, but never a lot. Well sometimes !
The GRD is still the camera I reach for first. I do like the GXR a lot, and the A16 zoom is a cracker. But I've been thinking lately I should have gone for the 50 macro or the 28. I'm just not a zoom person. Love the 24 end though.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm not a 'zoom' person either...I bought a couple in my Olympus days as it seemed attractive to have one lens attached that did most jobs but I hardly ever used them....it took me a while to remember this as at one point the A16 looked ideal...although rather large. With the GRD I'm trying out the dynamic range compensation (the single shot version) with some promising results with bright subjects and a dark surround....as sort of pre-processing. I think if there was a 40mm or 50mm adapter for the GRD3/4 that worked (the GT-1 is too limiting) it would be complete as far as I'm concerned.
