Into the light

I like the first pic a lot but I would suggest a 3:2 crop? There seems to be a little too much of the street.

As for the second pic, it's slightly rotated and also there I would try a 3:2 crop. Or maybe even 16:9 to crop out a bit of the sky and street? What do you think?

I will give both a 16:9 cropping and do away most of the street.

Love both photos. They are Hollywood-movie sort of scenes to me!
Great shots!

Thankyou both for your comments. I did try various crops but I came back to the original ratio because I preferred to keep the road marking in the first and the feeling of distance and remoteness in the second. I'm not saying my crop is the better choice, but to me, it conveys the feeling I wanted to achieve.
Thanks again,

I think the distance idea in the second picture is good and would work, but the street is too monotone. It would have been great if it had a pattern that mirrored the sky in some way.

A cropped version, as suggested, for example with only the striped part of the street, or even no street, left, makes a very good looking picture, but, agreed, a very different and flatter picture. Btw, I use way too many commas. :-)
