Well...yes and no on the danger front. The mute swans which I know from my childhood (and look very similar to these) do have quite dramatic attack abilities as I once experienced as a pre-teen when nosing at a 'deserted', flooded out nest and eggs...so normally once bitten twice shy!
However, I was sitting on the grass watching the big (male?) one on the left cleaning it's feathers when first the other adult, then the babe decided to joint me. I did try and shuffle my bum a few milimeters closer but the one of the right gave me a warning hiss so I apologised and stayed put. The wee guy had a big personality and actually looked more dangerous than either parent so I was on my very best behaviour! They have very powerful wings and rapier beaks so I made no sudden moves... :shock: :lol:
